Public Relations Manager at Alo Yoga, Los Angeles, CA

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Head of Public Relations, Alo’s PR Manager will coordinate editorial activities, execute local and regional PR strategies, contribute to driving the fashion and lifestyle share of the brand’s voice through online media product placements. The PR Manager will look after online growth, assist in managing Alo’s editorial network and collaborate with the wider marketing team to turn those relationships into brand equity. This position will proactively coordinate with respective departments to assist in securing product placements and act as a liaison between the brand and any external agencies. This position will engage with regional, lifestyle and entertainment outlets and fashion market and lifestyle editors to ensure Alo is consistently being featured in the press. The PR Manager will assist the Head of PR in the day-to-day delivery of deliverables and supporting projects through planning, execution and reporting phases. Part of the editorial side of the role requires an understanding of fashion, wellness and lifestyle media to ensure the department is aware of all editorial changes and new outlets for brand engagement. 

ABOUT THE PR DEPARTMENT

The public relations department drives the brand narrative and marketing communication strategy and is responsible for developing unique story threads to ensure Alo stands out in the media. In order to tell the brand story, the PR team must develop and produce press releases, launch innovative campaigns, create news alerts and draft day-to-day pitches for market and brand stories.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General support for Head of PR; to assist in coordinating key PR initiatives, campaigns, launches and events.

  • Oversee PR product editorial for Alo with national and regional media outlets.

  • Oversee and analyze monthly and seasonal DMR competitive analysis reports to identify strengths and weaknesses for review with PR Director.

  • Support print and online media outreach on key corporate/fashion-related initiatives to secure features and news items.

  • orking closely with Alo’s digital team to ensure timely pitching on Alo’s product drop cadence

  • Assist in development and execution of seasonal brand plans and high-level media strategies.

  • Maintain strong print and online editorial relationships with target editors

  • Oversee sample tracking system for editorial and sample requests.

  • Oversee editorial target media lists.

  • Manage seasonal and special project gifting to editors and

  • Manage digital asset planning, distribution and editorial strategy.

  • Manage seasonal presentations, editor market appointments and special events.

  • Manage daily, weekly and monthly media placements reports.

  • Attend key internal meetings and update managers and team accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree preferred.

  • 4-6 years of experience in event design and execution.

  • Strong understanding media relations with editorial contacts in the fashion and lifestyle space.

·      Proven ability to manage multiple small or medium-sized projects simultaneously.

·      Strong research, writing, editing and communication skills.

TEAM ORGANIZATION
